Full Job Description
As a Family Practitioner, you'll play a key role in delivering Hampshire County Council's Reducing Parental Conflict programme, helping families address challenges early and improve outcomes for children. Working within the Early Help system, you'll provide high-quality, relationship-based support to children and families, with a focus on strengthening family relationships and reducing the impact of parental conflict. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines direct work with families with supporting colleagues and partners to build confidence in addressing parental conflict. You'll help embed consistent, evidence-informed approaches across services, strengthening early intervention and reducing escalation into statutory services. What you'll do:
- Work directly with children and families to identify needs, build on strengths and address parental conflict early.
- Deliver relationship-based, strengths-focused support that improves outcomes for children and families.
- Model effective practice and support colleagues and partner agencies to build confidence and skills.
- Promote a whole-family, early intervention approach across services.
- Contribute to the delivery and embedding of the Reducing Parental Conflict Programme.
- Work collaboratively with Family Help Teams and partners to deliver coordinated, outcome-focused support.
Experience of working directly with children and families, including delivering early help or preventative support. - Confidence in engaging families in sensitive conversations in a strengths-based, respectful and non-judgemental way.
- A strong commitment to relationship-based practice and improving outcomes for children.
- The ability to support others through modelling good practice, guidance and shared learning.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with professionals and partner agencies.
- A reflective approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
