Family Practitioner (Domestic Abuse)

As a Family Practitioner, you will provide targeted, trauma-informed support to families, focusing on improving safety, strengthening relationships, and promoting positive outcomes for children. You will work holistically with both parents and children, using evidence-based approaches to address the impact of domestic abuse and support sustainable behavioural change. The role is primarily based in Nuneaton & Bedworth, with work taking place across community settings, including family homes and partner agencies within the local area. DAST delivers a range of specialist interventions, supporting families to understand the impact of domestic abuse, build resilience, support victim/survivors to live free from abuse and promote behaviour change for those who have abused. You will contribute to multi-agency working, ensuring that the voice of the child is central to all interventions and that safeguarding remains a priority. The successful candidate will join a supportive and established team of practitioners and specialists, working collaboratively with internal and external partners, including social care, education, health, and criminal justice services., The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. You will have experience of working directly with children and families in a safeguarding or domestic abuse context, along with a strong understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on child development, parenting capacity, and family dynamics. Experience of delivering one-to-one and/or group interventions is desirable. The role requires a minimum of 1 year experience of demonstrably effective continuous Family Support Work or as a Family Practitioner.
