An exciting opportunity has arisen for fixed term posts for 'Family Network' Social Work Assistants (FNSWA), across the county (name soon changing to Social Connections Assistant).
As Kent County Council embraces the Families First, you will be at the heart of the family group decision-making transformation.
This is an excellent development opportunity to increase your skillset and knowledge of restorative approaches, relationship-based practice and achieving best outcomes for children and their families. You will be part of an exciting and innovative project and have real opportunities to look at how we support children to remain within the care of their wider networks, reduce the risk they face and contribute to improving their outcomes.
Successful applicants will sit alongside children's social work teams providing rapid response family-led meetings for families open to children's services. You will be working alongside families at a time of crisis and support them to identify and strengthen safety plans and reduce the likelihood of children experiencing entry into care, by working with them in a restorative way to identify solutions within the network.
This role sits with in the Social Connections Service who are committed to achieving the best outcomes for children, young people, and their family networks. You will receive support and be managed by the Social Connections Team who will also provide you with formal supervision, ad hoc support, and restorative approaches training. You will be supervised by the Social Connections Service., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description / Person Specification.
