Family Liaison, Pastoral Support and DDSL

We are seeking an outstanding individual to support families and children to access and attend school and services, helping to establish and maintain positive relationships between school staff and parents/carers and encourage consistent attendance. To provide a high-quality, targeted intervention service that addresses barriers to learning, specifically focusing on improving pupil attendance and emotional well-being. To work with and facilitate successful inclusion in school life, ensuring all pupils reach their full academic and personal potential. To deputise as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL). • To form positive, trusting working relationships with parents, carers, and families to support children's access to school and community services.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils to explore their feelings about school, addressing anxiety, bullying, and emotional issues that lead to school avoidance.
• Work on initiatives which raise awareness of the importance of school attendance
• Comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health & safety in the workplace, Safeguarding The Sigma Trust is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people that we work with. · Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Social Care, or Pastoral Support (or equivalent experience) · Being aware of and working with the service policies in relation to Inclusion, Child Protection and physical contact with pupils, appropriate regulations and guidance · Ability to use clear language to communicate information unambiguously and listen effectively.
