Family Involvement Worker

We are looking to recruit a full time Family Involvement Worker to be based in Maidstone and work in the Canterbury, Swale and Thanet districts of Kent. You will work closely with a range of service users and provide detailed information either virtually or in person to support complex casework.

You will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of SEND Legislation and have knowledge of the importance of impartiality and participation. You will need to demonstrate experience of working with children, young people, parents and a range of partners including education providers and the voluntary sector.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential together with effective organisational skills. You will also need to demonstrate resilience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

The ability to travel to Canterbury, Swale and Thanet in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
