Full Job Description
As a Family Help Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people and their families with a wide range of needs. Acting as a key worker, you will undertake assessments, develop plans with families, and deliver evidence-based interventions that promote positive change and improve family wellbeing. You will work directly with children, young people, parents and carers through both one-to-one and group-based interventions, building strong relationships that help families identify their strengths and achieve their goals.,
- Completing Child and Family Assessments to identify strengths, needs and areas for support.
- Working collaboratively with children and families to develop and deliver effective plans for change.
- Acting as the Lead Professional for Team Around the Child (TAC) cases where appropriate.
- Contributing to holistic family support for children subject to Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, and children in care.
- Delivering group programmes and targeted interventions.
- Providing support to young carers and ensuring their voices are heard.
- Working alongside partner agencies to coordinate support and achieve the best possible outcomes for families. To be successful in this role, you will need to hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field and be able to build effective relationships with children, families and partner agencies. You will be confident in working independently, managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality support that achieves meaningful outcomes. As this is a community-based role, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Regular travel will be required across your allocated Family Help Team area, with occasional county-wide travel to meet service needs., In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
