Full Job Description
The Longshaw Estate is a wonderful place to discover ancient woods, tumbling streams and spectacular views. This role is all about using your practical skills and attention to detail to keep the whole place in good condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit. You'll work 26.25 hours per week, including regular weeks. A working pattern can be discussed at interview stage. For this role, you'll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role. What it's like to work here You'll join the Facilities & Support Services team, who work across the Peak District to look after our many buildings and visitor facilities. You'll be based on the Longshaw Estate, situated in the Peak District National Park not far from Sheffield. With lots going on at all times, you can guarantee no day will be the same. What you'll be doing You'll play a core part in making sure that Longshaw's buildings and outdoor spaces are safe and presentable for everyone. You'll be turning your hand to all sorts of caretaking duties such as cleaning, emptying bins, sweeping and litter picking, both indoors and outdoors. You'll have an eye on presentation at all times. You'll quickly get to know the Estate inside-out as you'll access all areas to complete routine checks, learn about our services and help with day to day operations such as unloading deliveries and general maintenance work. You'll sometimes find yourself working alone while at other times you'll be working alongside colleagues. You'll work closely with our team to respond promptly to issues and use your practical skills to conduct minor repairs where appropriate. You'll be aiming for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after, and this includes speaking to people as they visit and helping them with queries. You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what's possible in this role.
We'd love to hear from you if you're:
- focused on giving great service to everyone you meet
- a team player, but also happy to work on your own initiative
- well-organised and adaptable
- willing to learn new skills
- comfortable working in flexible and adaptable way
