for our farmer-members from combine to the end user through our
three strategically positioned, Advanced Processing Centres (APC’s)
across Central England.
What You'll Do
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Fabrication Welder
Apprentice to join our Engineering Team. This is an excellent
opportunity to develop a rewarding career within a modern agricultural
grain storage business while gaining nationally recognised
engineering qualifications.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Learn safe fabrication and welding techniques under supervision.
- Manufacture, repair and modify steel components for plant and
equipment. - Assist with MIG and MMA welding on a variety of engineering
projects. - Support preventative maintenance programmes across the grain
storage facility. - Carry out equipment inspections and identify defects.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
- Learn to use fabrication equipment including:
o Pillar drills
o Bandsaws
o Grinders
o Hand tools - Assist with installation of new plant and machinery.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop.
- Follow company health, safety and food safety procedures at all
times. - Work alongside the engineering team during planned maintenance and breakdowns.
- Complete apprenticeship coursework and attend college/training
provider as required.
Training Outcome
Career progression opportunities on successful completion of the
apprenticeship, with the potential to progress into a permanent
Fabrication Welder/Engineer role.
