Full Job Description
Do you enjoy helping others and want to make a difference in people's daily lives? We have an exciting 6 month fixed term opportunity to join our friendly team as an Extra Care Assistant at Nant Y Mor Extra Care Scheme in Prestatyn. This dual-role opportunity gives you the chance to work as a Part-time Cleaner or Catering Assistant, depending on the needs of the scheme. Whilst the position supports both areas the 15 hours is allocated for the Catering Assistant role, with the opportunity to pick up cleaning shifts to support any gaps that need to be filled due to annual leave or sickness cover. What will you be doing? Depending on which role you are working in, your duties will include: As a Cleaner:
- Carrying out routine cleaning of communal areas such as lounges, dining rooms, and bathrooms - there is no cleaning of resident's rooms required for this role.
- Following cleaning schedules and infection control procedures.
- Ensuring a safe, tidy, and pleasant environment for residents and visitors. As a Catering Assistant:
- Serving residents meals
- Helping with setting up and clearing the dining area.
- Supporting residents with meal choices and ensuring a welcoming dining experience.
- Helping in the kitchen with small prep jobs such as peeling and chopping vegetables, and making sandwiches.
- Helping to keep the kitchen area and restaurant area clean and tidy
- Following food hygiene and safety standards. You will also follow key policies, report concerns promptly, and provide a welcoming, supportive presence for residents. This is not a personal care role. You will not be expected to provide personal care or medical support to residents. Your focus will be on catering and cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our residents.
- Friendly, reliable, and approachable.
- Happy to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work well as part of a team but also confident working independently.
- Flexible and willing to support either catering or cleaning tasks.
- Comfortable interacting with residents in a positive and respectful way. No previous experience is required, just a willingness to learn and a commitment to high standards.
- £13.45 per hour.
- A supportive and welcoming team environment.
- Part-time hours with opportunities to pick up extra shifts.
- Daytime-only working hours (lunchtime service).
- Regular weekends off for a healthy work-life balance.
- Paid travel expenses where applicable.
