and adapt our offering to benefit both Tarmac and our customersProviding the Area Commercial Manager with monthly key metrics and performance rating reports, identifying underperformance or issues with solutions to drive business improvementIn the role you will be in liaison with stakeholders across the business, ranging from the Commercial Director, Commercial Managers, Site Teams, CustomerServices, Accounts, Technical and HR.A car is available with this role, therefore you must hold a FULL UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and has the flexibility of Hybrid workingThe Ideal CandidateThe Ideal Candidate for our role of External Account Manager will ideally have the following:Experience:Demonstration of managing and developing customer accountsCommercial understanding of our business within sectorWorking cross-functionally to deliver customer requirementsBe able to utilise commercial tools and forecasts in your normal working daySkills
Account Managerrole (not exhaustive):Strategically managing a portfolio of external accounts to deliver against targeted sales volumes, price and profitability targetsIdentifying opportunities to maximise our cash position through efficient and effective tradingProviding the business and the associated departments with external market intel around product demand and mix interest to support the continual evolution of our strategy approachBeing at the forefront of any significant Aggregate projects on the horizon and devising an advance plan of action to maximise Tarmac potential at securing a programme of worksWorking closely and actively with the Customer Service and Shipping teams, understanding and appreciating the value each role contributes to the success of the businessForward prepare your colleagues and teams of the requirements and expectations of key accounts implementing specific and achievable service level agreementsRegularly reviewing each account; looking for ways to improve, Knowledge:Influencing skills, negotiation skills, change management skillsAn excellent understanding of regional marketUnderstanding of the competitive landscapeHigh level of drive & determination to succeedAbility to identify customer needs and build solutions, along with comprehensive product knowledgeThere is flexibility for base office location due to the nature of the role, however due to the travel requirements you will need to be in commutable distance of East Anglia, Cambridge, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & the surrounding areas.At Tarmac, 'who you are' matters.
