About the Role:
You will be able to help people you support to live the life they want, ensuring they have choices and control over the planning and delivery of their support. You will enable them to reach their potential by providing both physical and emotional support, along with encouraging them to develop positive relationships socially.
Our Leeds Strawberry Lane service supports 3 gentlemen in a supported living setting. Due to their different levels of autism needing focus and attention, this role can be intense therefore this role would suit someone who has high levels of patience and understanding with the ability to risk assess any situation in the living environment.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day tasks
- Personal care
- Medication administration
- Social integration
- Hobbies and interests
- Organising fun days or themed activities
- Appointments
You will help to organise and participate in activities and you'll support a range of life skills. You will be comfortable with lone working during a typical shift. An understanding and/or experience of autism and recognised qualifications such as NVQ are preferred for this role, although not essential as Real Life Options will put you through the NVQ and any necessary training.
Shift Pattern and Working Hours:
Successful applicants will cover a variety of shifts, examples of shift patterns are as follows:
- 8am to 3pm
- 3pm to 10pm
- 11:30am to 6:30pm
- 9:30am to 3:30pm
- 12pm to 7pm
Part of your shift could be supporting one service user then the second half of the shift could be with another person, this service is a 24-hour a day support service. You may be required to cover waking nights on the odd occasion. A full clean UK driving license will be required for this role to enable you to drive the Motability vehicles. An enhanced DBS will be required for this role.
