We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity, to join our Occupational Therapy Stroke Team in Glangwilli Hospital, Carmarthen. Providing quality rehabilitation and supporting early discharge with a home first ethos. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will be an integral part of an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team which includes Consultants, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants. You will have a strong foundation in rehabilitation working towards what matters to an individual for the best outcomes for the patient, this will include knowledge in manual handling, education, cognition, sensory, and physical function. We are looking for someone interested in service development, audit and supporting the wider team education. There will be opportunities in learning and development, sharing best practice, support with induction into your new role and monthly supervision. There is also opportunities for mileage expenses and pool car use.

You will have a strong clinical grounding in stroke rehabilitation, and complex manual handling , as well as a good understanding of current issues affecting acute and community services. Successful applicants will require an excellent ability to work autonomously, managing and prioritising a diverse and unpredictable caseload, with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing and pressurised environment alongside members of the multidisciplinary team. You should have advanced clinical knowledge, risk assessment skills and Manual Handling experience. You should also be committed to the learning and development of your team, students and yourself. The post will have some managerial responsibilities including PADR and supervision of staff, provide leadership and advice, developing your own clinical skills and those of others, undertaking evaluation, audit, and contributing to research as required. You will be an organised individual with excellent time management skills to manage a complex caseload, support triage and allocation of cases, the handover process and guide appropriate, relevant clinical discussions.
