Full Job Description

Our Business Support Service is looking for an Executive Support Team Leader who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Executive Support for the Community Protection Management Board. Our Business Support Service is a centralised unit which has been formed to deliver a co-ordinated, consistent, and high-quality service supporting service delivery across the organisation. Business Support is critical to ensuring our departments can support services to our residents, and if you have great administrative skills and a strong customer focus, you could be part of it. You'll be working as part of the central Business Support Service with more than 400 colleagues supporting our departments to ensure they are able to deliver critical services to the residents of Hertfordshire., The Executive Support Team Leader will:

  • Be responsible for overseeing and coordinating executive support for the Community Protection Management Board which includes line managing a team of 5 Executive Support Officers.
  • Work closely with the CP Board and key senior managers to deliver effective and efficient support aligned to the key priorities of the Community Protection directorate.
  • Manage responses to complaints and FOI's for the CP Directorate.
  • Work closley with the Business Support Hub Manager to plan and align support to the CP Board in terms of setting standards and ways of working to drive consistency of approach and offer.
  • Project plan to deliver results across a range of project and areas.
  • Be responsible for the management of diverse workloads, with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Challenge existing practices, champion change and act as a role model for managers and colleagues.
  • Manage use of complex systems and processes and coach others to use them for best results.

    Typically, you will be degree qualified (or vocational equivalent) plus you will have several years' experience in a similar role or significant vocational experience, demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding relevant roles.
  • Previous line management experience
  • Extensive experience of working in a previous administrative or support role, with strong knowledge of business support activities
  • Previous ability to ensure deadlines are met with high accuracy in written correspondence
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a range of audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
  • Experience in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to plan the work priorities of teams over a longer term, as well as short term
  • Enthusiasm and pride in your work are qualities we welcome.
  • Experience in notes and minute taking
  • Previous experience in research and recommendation reports
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in delivering training
  • Experience in dealing with complaints and FOI requests
  • Experience and understanding of HR policies and procedures.

  • Change Management experience
