Full Job Description
The UKHSA's Immunisation and Vaccine Preventable Diseases division is responsible for the evaluation of the national immunisation programme and undertakes enhanced surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases to monitor vaccine impact and effectiveness. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Executive Officer within the CONSENSUS team. The CONSENSUS study main aims are to compare the antibody responses in adults receiving COVID-19, Flu, RSV and other vaccines as part of the current UK vaccination programme. The findings from the audit are regularly fed back to JCVI and are required to inform policy decisions on the programme. The post-holder will assist the CONSENSUS study medical and scientific staff in the collection of biological samples and contextual data in analysis of the response to COVID-19, Flu, RSV and other vaccines, given as part of that national vaccine programme. The main location of the role being based in office at the UKHSA's Colindale facility, whilst also having the capability to visit sampling locations across North West London with flexibility. This will include coordinating and sending out of specimen sampling kits to a variety of health care locations, correspondence with sampling locations and further logistical connections, administrative assistance at sampling locations, and general data entry assistance. The post-holder may be required to telephone GP surgeries, laboratories, hospitals, and respond to queries from the participants of the audit.,
- Provide clerical support to the CONSENSUS audit
- Communication with participants collectively and individually
- Provide administrative support for sampling visits. This will include: + Organisation and sending of specimen kits + Attending sampling visits, providing administrative support with registration and questionnaire completion. + Liaising with labs and the delivery of samples + Telephone work (booking participants for follow up visits) + Data entry of surveillance forms in the appropriate database, checking for duplications, amending existing records when informed of a change in information and, keeping a well-maintained filing system
- Assist with a variety of queries from GPs, health centres and members of the Audit on an ad-hoc basis and passing to scientific or medical staff as appropriate
- Professional development - identify, discuss and action own professional performance and training / development needs with your line manager through appraisal / individual development plan.
- Attending internal / external training events
- To participate in all mandatory training as required, i.e. fire safety, information governance and all other mandatory training.
