Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint additional Examination Invigilators to support the supervision and administration of internal and external GCSE and A Level examinations. Work is offered according to the examination timetable and school requirements.

The successful candidates will be able to establish a positive and authoritative presence with students, work effectively as part of the existing invigilation team, and carry out their duties under the direction of the school's Examination and Data Officer.

Invigilators must be able to commit to an agreed timetable during the November, December, February, April. May and June examination periods and attend mandatory training events throughout the year. Availability during these examination periods is an essential requirement of the role.

The successful candidates will possess excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to maintain a calm, orderly and secure examination environment while ensuring examinations are conducted in accordance with JCQ regulations, awarding body requirements and school procedures.

The role includes a range of administrative duties before, during and after examinations, together with responsibility for maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process.

Previous invigilation experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided., Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers. As this post is considered a 'regulated activity', a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service, including the children's barred list will be made. Successful applicants must be familiar with and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of students.
