Full Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: To assist the exams officer in conducting internal and external exams SALARY: Hourly rate of pay £13.28 + holiday pay (£1.96) HOURS OF WORK: Casual hours depending on internal/external exam arrangements INTERVIEW DATE: Tuesday 6th October 2026 Main Duties To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications, exam boards and The Crypt School instructions. Before exams

  • To report to the Exams Office prior to each exam session
  • To keep exam papers and materials secure at all times
  • To ensure exam rooms are set out in accordance with exam regulations
  • To admit candidates into exam rooms
  • To identify, seat, and instruct candidates in the conduct of their exams
  • To distribute exam papers and materials to candidates
  • To deal with candidate queries
  • During exams
  • To supervise candidates at all times throughout exams
  • To deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively
  • To record/report any irregularities
  • To complete attendance registers
  • To advise the Exams Officer of any absent students
  • To deal with candidate queries
  • After exams
  • To collect exam scripts
  • To dismiss candidates from the exam room
  • To return exam scripts and other materials to the exams officer
  • To help package exam scripts
  • To assist with exams office admin
  • Other
  • To attend mandatory training and refresher or review sessions as required
  • To undertake other duties requested by the exams officer, for example supervision of clash candidates between exam periods
