Full Job Description

As an Event Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering virtual, hybrid and live events for the public programmes team, working closely with museum colleagues and freelance technicians. You'll operate and maintain AV systems in key presentation spaces, including the Wonderlab Show Space and the newly refurbished Hans Rausing Lecture Theatre, while acting as the first line of support for users of those spaces. You'll also support the wider department with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of digital exhibits and assist with the installation of a wide range of digital systems. In addition, you'll maintain accurate documentation, including fault logs, asset records and comprehensive O&M documentation for event systems.

This includes experience with digital sound desks, DMX lighting and AV-over-IP technologies such as Dante and NDI. You'll need effective communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical coworkers, consistently deliver great customer service, and remain open to learning.

    We are now looking for an Event Technician to join us at the Science Museum on a full-time, permanent basis. In this engaging position, you'll help create memorable experiences for guests and will work one weekend in three plus a rota of Bank Holidays.
