Full Job Description

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Events Assistant to join our Culture and Tourism Service at an exciting time of growth and ambition. This is a key role within the team, offering the opportunity to support and deliver an exciting programme of festivals and events that celebrate creativity, culture and place. About the role You will:

  • Support in the planning and preparation of an annual outdoor events and cultural development programme.
  • Undertake operational delivery of outdoor events and cultural projects as required, working hours to include both evenings and weekends.
  • To liaise with client groups, traders and external organisations to ensure all relevant event paperwork are complete and assessed before events are staged.
  • Support the Chair of the Independent Safety Advisory Group (ISAG) in the delivery of meetings, providing administrative support.
  • Monitor events and event sites to ensure safe delivery, liaising with Redcar and Cleveland's Independent Safety Advisory Group, licencing teams, and other related internal and external partners as necessary.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and profile of culture and tourism across the borough.

    We are looking for a highly motivated individual who:
  • Has experience of supporting and delivering outdoor events and festivals.
  • Brings a good understanding and experience of working in events and the relevant legislation associated.
  • Has experience of working with and maintaining strong relationships with external partners in particular event organisations and suppliers, cultural organisations and community organisations.
  • Values partnership working and delivers creative, high-quality outcomes
  • Is positive, forward-thinking and passionate about culture and place-making.
  • Flexibility occasional week nights and weekends, where appropiate
