Full Job Description

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in leading the preparation and submission of competitive tenders across major civil engineering and infrastructure projects, typically ranging from £20m to £150m+. You will work closely with commercial, operational, and technical teams to develop robust pricing strategies and contribute to successful tender outcomes. This is a long-term, site-based opportunity offering exposure to large-scale, technically challenging projects., Lead tender pricing for major civil engineering and infrastructure schemes
Review technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and tender information
Develop detailed cost plans, pricing strategies, and value engineering solutions
Manage the full supply chain enquiry and pricing process
Identify, assess, and manage commercial and technical risks
Prepare tender adjudication reports and contribute to bid presentations
Support the transition from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring a smooth handover

Proven experience working as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within civil engineering
Strong experience pricing medium to large-scale infrastructure projects
Solid understanding of UK construction contracts and procurement routes
Excellent commercial awareness and analytical capability
Ability to lead tenders and coordinate multidisciplinary bid teams
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable
Experience across highways, rail, utilities, aviation, or major infrastructure sectors
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management

Strong understanding of cost planning, risk management, and tender strategy
Ability to analyse complex technical information and produce accurate pricing
Knowledge of commercial processes within large-scale civil engineering projects

Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to lead and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Proactive, driven, and able to meet strict deadlines
