Full Job Description
Maximising value and efficiency, we oversee procurement, estimating, and quantity surveying to keep Nottinghamshire's highways projects on track. Your ideas, Your community, Your impact. What you'll do:
- Prepare accurate measurements, take-offs and bills of quantities from engineering drawings for highways and civil engineering projects.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive and current pricing.
- Act as the main client contact for awarded projects and support project handover to delivery teams.
- Identify project risks and cost impacts, incorporating appropriate contingencies into estimates.
- Maintain and update the Estimating Register to support accurate reporting and commercial decision-making.
- Notify the Senior Estimating Manager of successful bids and ensure project information is provided for efficient mobilisation.
- Maintain accurate and organised project records, ensuring information is accessible to the wider team.
- Attend project planning and ECI meetings to gather requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Manage Project Change Control documentation and support accurate cost reporting with Quantity Surveyors and project teams.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Building, Highways or Civil Engineering, with estimating experience in a highways or civil engineering environment. - Strong understanding of civil engineering and highways construction methods, materials, and project delivery.
- Proficient in estimating software, digital measurement tools, spreadsheets, and technical documentation.
- Able to interpret drawings and specifications, assess resource requirements, and identify cost risks and allowances.
- Excellent numerical, organisational and communication skills, with a full UK driving licence.
