Full Job Description
As our Estates Surveyor, you will help manage the Council's land and property portfolio, protect its interests and maximise the financial and community value of its assets. Your work will include:
- Managing commercial property assets and landlord and tenant matters.
- Negotiating rent reviews, lease renewals, lettings and other property transactions.
- Supporting the acquisition and disposal of land and property.
- Undertaking property inspections and valuations.
- Providing professional property advice to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Leading or contributing to property and asset management projects.
- Working closely with tenants, consultants, solicitors, Council services, elected members and other stakeholders.
- Contributing to the Council's Asset Management Strategy and associated initiatives.
Hastings Borough Council is looking for a commercially aware Estates Surveyor to join our Property and Commercial Assets team. This is an opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of commercial and operational property, with direct involvement in rent reviews, lease renewals, valuations, acquisitions and disposals. You will be able to make professional recommendations, influence the Council's approach to asset management and see the impact of your work across Hastings. We welcome applications from experienced Estates Surveyors and property professionals who are working towards further RICS accreditation.
Grade 4: £39,152-£44,075 per annum Plus a 10% market supplement and £2,278 benefit allowance Current total annual package: £45,345-£50,761 Permanent 37 hours per week
