Estates Maintenance Assistant Ashington, Northumberland Full Time - 37 Hours per Week Temporary Ongoing Assignment (until permanent recruitment is completed) The Supply Register on behalf of Northumberland CollegeThe Supply Register is currently recruiting for an Estates Maintenance Assistant to support Northumberland College at its beautiful Ashington campus.This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and practical individual with maintenance, estates, facilities, or caretaking experience to join a busy college environment on a full-time basis.The role will support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the college site, helping to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The RoleAs an Estates Maintenance Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Carrying out general maintenance and repair tasks across the campusSupporting the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and facilitiesAssisting with site security and opening/closing
proceduresUndertaking basic plumbing, painting, decorating, and maintenance dutiesResponding to maintenance requests in a timely mannerSupporting health and safety compliance across the siteAssisting with room setups and college events where requiredWorking as part of the wider estates and facilities team Working HoursThis is a full-time position working 37 hours per week.Candidates must be flexible to work various shifts between: 6:00am - 11:00pmShift patterns will be discussed during the recruitment process. What We're Looking ForEssential: Previous maintenance, facilities, caretaking, estates, or site experience Good practical and DIY skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong awareness of health and safety practices Reliable, professional, and flexible approach Good communication skillsDesirable: Experience working within education, public sector, or large site environments Relevant maintenance or trade qualifications Basic knowledge of
