Full Job Description

The post holder will lead the delivery of the e-Rostering re-implementation and optimisation programme for Medical and Dental staff over a fixed 18-month period. The role is responsible for ensuring the successful configuration, deployment, and adoption of the rostering system across all specialties, supporting improved workforce planning, rota compliance, and operational efficiency. Working closely with clinical, operational, HR, and workforce teams, the post holder will act as the subject matter expert for medical rostering, ensuring that rota design aligns with contractual requirements, Working Time Regulations, and service needs. The role will play a key part in delivering the Trust's workforce optimisation objectives, including improving rota transparency, reducing reliance on temporary staffing, and enhancing data quality to support safe and effective service delivery.,

  • Lead the delivery of the medical e-Rostering implementation and optimisation programme, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Design and configure complex medical rotas within the rostering system, including on-call, shift patterns, and rota rules
  • Ensure all rosters are compliant with Working Time Regulations, contractual requirements, and organisational policies
  • Work with clinical and operational leads to align rota design with service demand and workforce planning requirements
  • Support the reduction of temporary staffing usage through improved rota visibility and planning
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on medical rostering processes, system functionality, and best practice
  • Deliver training sessions, workshops, and system demonstrations to support stakeholder engagement and adoption
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including trackers, risks, and issue logs, and provide updates to senior stakeholders
  • Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and system integrity
  • Develop and maintain user guides, SOPs, and training materials
  • Act as a key liaison between services, HR, medical workforce, and system providers
  • Support continuous improvement of rostering processes to enhance efficiency, staff experience, and patient safety
