We are currently recruiting for 2 positions within the team. Please state clearly in your supporting information which of the 2 positions you are interested in: 1 x Permanent ER Services Assistant 34 Hours per week 1 x Fixed Term ER Services Assistant 18.75 Hours per week until 30 November 2026 The Human Resources department within Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and customer focused individuals to join our team as an ER Services Assistant. Working within the People Strategy team you will play a key role in managing HR administrative processes across all Employee Relations functions, working in a timely manner to tight deadlines. This role is hybrid working, however there would be an expectation you would be able to work from Trust Headquarters, Wakefield at least once a week (however this could be more based on business needs) with the requirement to travel to Trust wide sites across Yorkshire ., Working as part of a busy and productive team, the post holder will provide advice and guidance to staff and managers on basic HR queries, signposting to the relevant policy as appropriate and escalating matters which are complex or sensitive. The successful candidate will provide administration support to the Employee Relations team as required, particularly in support of ER casework, such as coordinating formal hearings and taking minutes at fact find meetings, panel hearings, and appeal hearings, ensuring that notes are transcribed, approved, and disseminated on a timely basis. The subject of such cases is often highly contentious and can be emotive. The postholder will be responsible for updating and maintaining ER Case Tracking software and manipulating data to produce workforce reports for the HR team. The successful candidate would be responsible for organising and supporting job evaluation panels.
The successful candidate will be a team player who is approachable, has a can-do attitude, is proactive and can work on their own initiative. Having experience working within an administrative function providing notetaking support and diary management is essential, alongside having experience of using HR systems and resolving queries in a timely manner. Having a strong sense of customer care and inclusivity is essential as well as a willingness to commit to the core values of the Trust. Experience of working within the NHS and having knowledge of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions is desirable.
