Equine Groom Apprentice - Showjumping Yard

Introduction

M Equestrian is looking for one enthusiastic Equestrian Groom Apprentice to join the team.

The successful applicant will be involved in the day-to-day care and management of competition horses and will have the opportunity to learn how horses are prepared and cared for to a high standard before, during and after competition.

About the Employer

MEquestrian, based at Stondon Court in Essex, is a professional competition yard specialising in showjumping. The yard provides an opportunity to work closely with competition horses and learn about the high standards of care, preparation and management required in a competitive equestrian environment.

What You'll Do

• Mucking out / keeping yard area tidy
• Feeding / filling hay nets and water buckets
• Turning in and out
• Picking out feet / rugging up
• Grooming / tacking up
• Tack cleaning
• Bathing / show prep
• Lunging / long reining
• Holding for farrier / vet / dentist
• Possibility of grooming at shows
• Riding for the right candidate 

Training Outcome

For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 apprenticeship or into full-time employment following successful completion of the apprenticeship.
