Full Job Description
Are you passionate about creating inclusive services and improving equity of access, outcomes and experience for service users? This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and influence the Trust's service user equality and human rights work. The successful post holder will have experience of leading Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) improvements in services, highly developed communication and influencing skills, and the ability to analyse and communicate data effectively. This is a diverse role, in an organisation that serves the diverse populations of South East London. You will be working in a dynamic environment alongside a committed and experienced senior leadership team, and with the Trust's operational directorate teams. Candidates will also be asked to participate in an online exercise / assessment during w/c August 17th.,
- Provision of senior expertise on equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights across the organisation, supporting the Operational Directorates to work towards equity of access, experience, and outcomes for service users.
- Support for services to take an evidence-based approach to addressing health inequalities experienced by global majority communities, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and others to ensure equality, diversity and inclusion are integral to the delivery of the Trust's services and strategies.
- Ensuring that the Trust is advised of legislative and regulatory requirements laid out in the Equality Act 2010, the Human Right Act 1998 and related regulated requirements including the Accessible Information Standard, the Patient and Carer Race Equity Framework (PCREF) and the NHS Equality Delivery System.
- The development and implementation of programmes of work to improve service user equity of access, experience and outcomes and to reduce health inequalities. This will include working closely with colleagues implementing our Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF), and supporting the delivery of the Trust's Anti-racism plan.
- Together with the workforce EDI lead, support the Trust wide EDI Group including representatives from all key teams, and ensuring there is a regular focus on learning and improvement.
- Coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of service delivery sections of the Trust's Integrated Equalities Action Plan.
The post is part of the Strategy and Transformation Directorate, reporting to the Deputy Chief Strategy Officer, Strategy and Partnerships. The team works closely with the Trust Executive Team, and Corporate and Operational Directorates to help set Trust strategy and lead strategic planning; lead engagement with our communities, service users and carers, and partners; service user and carer involvement in the Trust, and to support service improvement through Trustwide transformation programmes.
