Full Job Description
As a configuration developer working as part of the EPR programme team in digital you will be responsible for design and development activities associated with the Trust EPR solution. The post holder will transform solution designs and requirements specifications into robust solutions utilising the EPR. The post holder will follow best practice development, configuration and testing lifecycles using a mixture of agile product and traditional waterfall approaches. The work will entail the use of a range of technologies along an open, standards-based approach to deliver the development of electronic data capture forms and correspondence templates. The post holder will develop and maintain Javascript code with support of HTML, CSS and jQuery to integrate with system configuration and support clinical pathways. Reporting to the development manager you will work closely alongside other developers to create and enact the future vision for the organisation in terms of digital innovation and implementation. The post holder will work closely with the CXIO's and clinical safety officers in the organisation, ensuring the functionality is fit for purpose, clinically safe and appropriate, Work in the EPR development team and provide support and influence to Trust stakeholders, to ensure the configuration and build remain consistent and supported. The post holder will resolve configuration issues and escalate any risks or issues, initiating corrective action for responsible projects. Build and nurture key relationships and networks with a varied range of audiences including both internal and external stakeholders Translate documented requirements into high- and low-level solution designs, working closely with subject matter experts and third-party system suppliers. Work collaboratively with other NHS organisations in the region, with consideration for design and build of a single solution. Analyses organisational requirements and evaluates and selects appropriate technical solutions, completing functional specification and gaining approval through appropriate governance. Ensure designs are output based and data collection will meet the reporting and national requirements of the Trust. Ensure that content meets prevailing national standards and legislative requirements. Ensure that the configuration, verification (checking) and validation (sign-off) of clinical documentation, pathways and protocols is undertaken completely and follow best practice, prevailing evidence and Trust guiding principles. Working closely with the business analysts ensuring that proposed solutions meet the documented set of requirements, and the functionality available in the system. Working closely with the project management function, provide assurance that implemented solutions match the proposed design and are fit for purpose with reference to the documented set of requirements Document configuration and development activities clearly so that key information can easily be shared with support teams for business-as-usual support and maintenance activities. Completes testing on EPR system, and for any new developments. Along with generation of test scripts, including functional testing, negative testing, integration and reporting. Maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders and system vendors. Support colleagues in their understanding, interpretation and use of information systems. Manages a variable workload, plans and modifies, often at short notice, a work programme containing complex tasks and activities Clearly and concisely document proposed changes to digital solutions to allow discussion between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ensure IT solutions meet information and cyber security governance standards Proactively report options, risks and issues to the EPR team as required. Provide support to the EPR Team providing advice and governance to the organisation and/or 3rd Party Business Partner teams undertaking Project Planning, system configuration work & testing. Develop and adhere to policies and standards to ensure consistency Ensure that they have a Personal Development Plan (which is reviewed six monthly) and ensure that their skills and knowledge bases are kept up to date to allow their services and the overall service provided by the Support Team is of a satisfactory standard. To monitor, prioritise and act upon calls received from 1st /2nd Line Support. This will include ownership of the call and completing actions to seek resolution. Attend briefings and departmental board meetings as appropriate.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced systems person to join the EPR programme delivery team. The role will require an enthusiastic and analytical person with a desire to succeed. The role will focus on the technical configuration features within the EPR including form and assessment build requiring javascript skills.,
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, Significant NHS IT working experience
- Extensive exposure and knowledge of NHS systems including patient administration systems and clinical systems
- Significant experience of working with third party suppliers Desirable criteria
- Experience in developing using java script
- Knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of system architecture including knowledge of integration between systems
- Experience of working with operational teams and reviewing full end to end processes with a focus on digital systems design, Ability to liaise with customers to understand and interpret diverse and non-routine requests
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff of all disciplines to promote and develop service improvement projects
- Organised and logical approach to work and high level attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time/set priorities
- Enthusiastic and motivated with a desire to enhance the service Desirable criteria
- Able to research, interpret and present highly complex information in a clear and logical manner
