Full Job Description

List the key responsibilities and tasks the post holder will be expected to carry out. Use bullet points for clarity and focus on the core aspects of the role. -Deliver a daily waste collection service -Liaise with staff to support service delivery. -Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Trust policies. -Ensure waste is segregated correctly,

  • Ensure that all day-to-day tasks are completed at the end of the shift.
  • To always follow correct procedures.
  • To ensure that standards and response times are met and if necessary, updating supervisor with reasons for delay.
  • To participate in all training to ensure competency in all aspects of their role on waste.
  • To drive the tug and trailer ensure the daily vehicle checks are undertaken.
  • To operate machinery including compactor following manufacturer instructions.
  • Responsible for notifying Supervisor/Waste Manager / Estates manager on call of a major incident situation.
  • Responsible for the collection and delivery of emergency waste bins.
  • Completion of incident forms and accurate record keeping.
  • Reporting to the estates help-line any defective machinery.
  • To ensure uniform is worn whilst on duty, I.D. badge is visible and that presentation is always of the highest quality.
  • To communicate effectively with all levels of staff and users of the service.
  • Ensure that the compound area is clean and tidy and secure at the end of each shift.
  • The post holder may be requested to undertake other duties is required to ensure adequate provision of service.
