Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a newly established role within a forward-thinking team. As an Environment Technician, you'll play a key part in ensuring Anglian Water remains compliant with the Streetworks Protocol. You'll be carrying out sampling of waste materials such as soil and asphalt across the region, supporting our commitment to environmental excellence and regulatory compliance.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Environment Technician, you'll be working within the IMRDS team, supporting them in maintaining water supply systems and ensuring environmental compliance. Your day to day will include:
-Collecting and submitting soil and asphalt samples from excavations across the Anglian Water region to approved laboratories
-Processing laboratory results and uploading information to internal systems, including Street Manager
-Auditing compliance with the Streetworks Protocol and reviewing on-site dig team practices
-Supporting waste management planning and providing advice on waste handling based on sampling results
-Championing site safety and embedding Safer Every Day principles across all sampling activities
Hold a science-related degree and are keen to begin a career in Environmental Management
-Are comfortable working autonomously within established processes and procedures
-Bring strong communication and influencing skills, particularly when working with field-based teams
-Thrive in fast-paced operational environments and have a strong commitment to safety
-Show a willingness to constructively challenge processes to drive high standards in safety, quality and efficiency
-Hold a full driving licence, Disability Confident
