At Broxtowe Borough Council we are passionate about our parks, green spaces and public realm, and the role they play in supporting communities, health and wellbeing. We are committed to ensuring that our green infrastructure and associated assets are safe, functional and welcoming, and this role is key to delivering that ambition. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Environmental Development Officer to join our Environment Team. This role focuses on the design, delivery and maintenance of parks and play infrastructure, including play areas, footpaths, drainage features and associated structural assets across the Borough. Working closely with colleagues, contractors and community partners, you will support capital improvement projects, undertake cyclical inspections of infrastructure assets, and ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard. This is a varied and practical role that combines project delivery, asset management and partnership working. The role is primarily based at our Kimberley Depot, with regular travel across the Borough and attendance at site meetings as required.   • Delivering parks, play or public realm infrastructure projects from design to completion
  • Procuring and administering contracts, including contractor supervision and payment certification
  • Inspecting and managing infrastructure or structural assets within open spaces
  • Undertaking risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety and CDM requirements
  • Working with contractors, internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Using digital systems, mapping tools or asset registers to manage infrastructure information

    Have relevant experience or qualifications in construction, civil engineering, landscape, infrastructure or a related discipline
  • Demonstrate an understanding of parks and play infrastructure within a public sector or amenity setting
  • Be confident prioritising works and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, colleagues, community groups and partners
  • Be comfortable contributing to reports, funding bids or business cases
  • Hold a valid driving licence (designated car user post), Disability Confident
