Environment Technical AdvisorThe Opportunity At Rolls-Royce SMR, we're shaping the future of clean energy. We're looking for an Environment Technical Advisor / Specialist with experience of delivering BAT assessments to help us design and deliver a next-generation nuclear technology that protects both people and the environment.ResponsibilitiesLead and contribute to environmental assessments that support design justification and regulatory submissions.Support the development of BAT cases for design and site-specific variations.Work closely with engineering teams to ensure environmental considerations are embedded in design decisions.Participate in optioneering and HAZOP workshops to influence safe and sustainable design outcomes.Provide expert advice on environmental protection and regulatory requirements.Represent the project in technical reviews and engage with external stakeholders, including regulators.Support training and capability development across environmental

topics.QualificationsDegree (or equivalent experience) in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline.Chartered status, or you're working towards it.Experience within the UK environmental regulatory framework (ideally nuclear or highly regulated industries).Strong experience producing BAT assessments or environmental safety cases.Confidence working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.Strong communication skills and the ability to influence a range of stakeholders.It would be great if you also have:Knowledge of nuclear plant design (e.g. PWR).Experience supporting Environmental Impact Assessments or permitting.Salary and BenefitsSalary: £50,650 - £66,500Flexible benefits allowance: £2,20012.5% bonus opportunityPensionable life assurance50% income protection28 days holiday plus bank holidays£250 new joiner paymentEmployment TermsHybrid working with a base near Manchester, Warrington or Derby.
