Full Job Description
We're looking for an Environment Manager to join our Environment Agency CDF - Southwest team based in Southwest. Location: Southwest Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. This is a unique opportunity to lead the environmental function within the Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework. You'll provide technical environmental advice and ensure compliance and strong environmental performance across projects throughout the Southwest. This role drives continuous improvement, supports pre-construction planning, and ensures effective implementation of environmental controls on site. What will you be responsible for? Providing technical advice on permits, licensing and consents during pre-construction and throughout deliveryEnsuring effective implementation of environmental controls across sites and verifying risks are managed before works commenceCompleting audits and
inspections, collecting and reporting environmental data to support framework KPI trackingLiaising with clients, regulators and subcontractors to support compliance and alignment with Environment Agency requirementsInvestigating environmental incidents and creating monthly lessons learned bulletins to share across the framework What are we looking for? You have significant experience working in an environmental management role, preferably within infrastructure or construction sectorsYou hold an environmental related degree or equivalent and membership (or working towards) of a professional body such as IEMA, CIWEM or CIWMYou have a detailed understanding of environmental legislation, impact mitigation and working with statutory authoritiesYou have strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to effectively communicate environmental risks to different job roles and levels of awarenessYou have working knowledge of ISO 14001 and auditing skills, and are flexible and willing to travel
