Enterprise Technical Architect

The Enterprise Technical Architect is responsible for supporting the definition, governing, and evolving the organisation's technology architecture to support strategic business objectives. Acting as a bridge between business intiiatives and technology delivery, the role ensures that technology investments, platforms, applications, infrastructure, data capabilities, and security controls align with the organisation's long-term vision, architecture principles, and operational requirements. The Enterprise Technical Architect provides support on architectural direction, technology standards, and solution design, ensuring that new initiatives deliver business value while maintaining a scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective technology landscape. The role works across multiple programmes, partnering with business stakeholders, delivery teams, supplier teams, and product owners to support architectural consistency and technical excellence. Success in this role will be demonstrated through the delivery of a coherent technology solutions, reduced architectural complexity, increased technology re-use, improved governance and risk management, successful delivery of strategic change programmes, and the further delivery of a modern, scalable, secure technology estate aligned to organisational goals. The role will operate in an environment where most of the technology delivery is done by third party providers. So will require engagement with the multiple teams across those providers. The Technology Strategy and Architecture team is responsible for setting the strategy for our technology capabilities, working with our delivery partners to realise the strategy, ensuring the cyber security of the capabilities and delivering a best in class corporate IT service to the rest of the enterprise


• Experience (5+) designing and governing complex enterprise technology environments.
• Broad understanding of enterprise architecture disciplines, cloud platforms, application architecture, integration patterns, infrastructure, data management, and cyber security.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, together with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
• An understanding of emerging global trends in technology.
• Experience of working with outsourced 3^rd party technology providers
