- Lead risk policy governance, including development, maintenance and oversight of locally owned risk management policies.
- Run the quarterly policy governance cycle, preparing and presenting papers to the Executive Oversight Committee on Enterprise and Local policy approvals and governance decisions.
- Provide independent assurance and credible challenge to senior management on the effectiveness of risk frameworks and policy compliance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives and Boards on enterprise risk governance matters.
- Enable consistent adoption of risk frameworks across the business, working closely with first line teams, Compliance and Internal Audit.
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry leading practice, ensuring risk governance arrangements remain current and effective.
- Lead initiatives to uplift risk management maturity, simplifying and strengthening governance processes.
Experience in enterprise or second-line risk roles within financial services or insurance. - Strong experience designing, owning or overseeing ERM frameworks and risk policy governance.
- Proven ability to engage confidently with senior executives, Boards and governance committees.
- A sound understanding of UK regulatory expectations (e.g. FCA / PRA) and how they translate into practical risk governance.
- Excellent communication skills, strong judgement and the confidence to provide independent challenge.
