Full Job Description

  • Access training and skill development platforms such as A Cloud Guru, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning.
  • Benefit from certifications and training programmes designed to enhance your expertise.
  • Enjoy a flexible work environment that supports work-life balance., We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Integration Architect with certified, hands-on expertise in Apache Kafka and strong experience embedding AI capabilities into real-time, event-driven platforms. This pivotal role involves architecting streaming data platforms that power both operational systems and AI/ML applications, while leveraging AI tools and techniques to enhance the architectural design and delivery process itself.
  • As an Enterprise Integration Architect, you will be accountable for defining the technical vision and architectural strategy for Kafka-based event streaming platforms and their integration with AI-enabled applications. You will lead end-to-end solution design, from conceptualisation through to production deployment, ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, low-latency, and aligned with overall business objectives. Your role will involve translating business requirements into robust event-driven architectures, including topic and schema design, stream processing pipelines, and real-time feature delivery for AI/ML models, while selecting appropriate technologies and guiding engineering teams through implementation. You will be instrumental in establishing architectural best practices for Kafka platform design, data governance, and streaming AI patterns, and in championing innovative approaches to leveraging AI within event-driven architectures. You will work closely with clients, product owners, data scientists, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact, real-time AI solutions.,
  • Lead the architectural design, development, and implementation of complex Kafka-based event-driven platforms and AI-driven applications across various business domains.
  • Define and enforce architectural principles, standards, and best practices for Kafka cluster design, topic/schema management, and stream processing, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Translate business requirements and use cases into comprehensive technical architectures, including event models, integration patterns, and deployment strategies for streaming and AI applications.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate streaming and AI technologies, platforms, and frameworks, including Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, Apache Flink, Schema Registry, and real-time feature stores for ML/AI use cases.
  • Strategically utilise AI-powered tools and techniques (e.g., generative AI for code, architectural pattern suggestions, anomaly detection on streaming data) to accelerate and enhance architectural design, documentation, and development processes.
  • Design and oversee real-time data pipelines that support AI/ML model training and inference, including feature engineering, model serving triggers, and event-driven GenAI use cases.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, guiding them through architectural decisions and complex technical challenges related to Kafka and AI solution delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, ethical AI, and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, AI Act), and enforce Kafka security best practices (SASL/SSL, RBAC, encryption at rest and in transit).
  • Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and engineering teams to ensure architectural designs meet functional and non-functional requirements, including throughput, latency, and exactly-once processing guarantees.
  • Conduct architectural reviews, performance tuning, capacity planning, and security assessments for Kafka and AI-integrated solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging Kafka ecosystem technologies (e.g., KRaft, Confluent Cloud, Strimzi on Kubernetes), architectural patterns, and industry trends to continuously enhance our solution offerings.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including supporting proposals, client pursuits, and identifying opportunities to extend Kafka and AI architecture work with existing and prospective clients.

Proven experience in Senior Integration or Solution Architect roles, with a strong focus on designing and implementing Apache Kafka-based platforms and AI-driven applications.
  • Desirable - Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka (CCDAK) and/or Confluent Certified Administrator for Apache Kafka (CCAAK), or equivalent Kafka certification.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, Schema Registry, and Confluent Platform / Confluent Cloud (or equivalent, e.g., AWS MSK, Azure Event Hubs for Kafka).
  • Strong understanding of generative AI models, Large Language Models (LLMs), and their application in real-time, event-driven solution design, including streaming RAG and event-triggered AI agents.
  • Proficiency in stream processing frameworks (Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, Spark Structured Streaming) and experience with ML/AI frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch) for real-time inference.
  • Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture patterns, data mesh principles, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their streaming/AI integration offerings.
  • Experience with data integration architectures (data lakes, ETL, streaming), data governance, schema evolution, and security best practices relevant to Kafka and AI solutions.
  • Experience running Kafka on Kubernetes (e.g., Strimzi) and with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Confluent Control Center) for streaming platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to business development, client relationship management, and practice-building activities, consistent with a Senior Manager-level remit.
