The National R&D Lab Creative Enterprise Manager will play a key role in shaping the future of the creative technology sector in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to shape the story of how creative enterprises innovate in future technologies, from generative AI to immersive experiences to Realtime networked interaction. You will be working with world-leading creative companies - from Pinewood to BT to disguise to thousands of cutting-edge UK SMEs - bringing excellent enterprise and commercialisation insight and expertise to help realise the commercialisation potential of creative technology content, IP, products, and services emerging from the CoSTAR network. You will work in a creative, inclusive, and dynamic environment based in the StoryFutures Unit at Royal Holloway, University of London. The role sits at the centre of CoSTARs Enterprise and commercialisation team, bridging the gap between high potential innovation and research and creative enterprise. In partnership with leading industry experts and a wide range of stakeholders, you will lead on the development of a broad range of creative enterprise programmes including tailored growth support, leadership development, expert mentorship, access to infrastructure, support with funding and finance and future market development. You will support the Head of Enterprise & Commercialisation by managing collaborative partnership activities , ensuring communication is maintained to a high level and be able to identify collaboration activities. The role will be agile, responsive and creative in its approach to devising a dynamic range of programmes targeted at the unique needs of creative enterprises. You will lead on forging new pathways and opening access to the resources and expertise needed to underpin the long-term sustainability and competitive advantage of the UK creative sector in an emerging global market. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage R&D project budgets, schedules, workflows, cost monitors, and participant rewardprocesses; ensure all projects are reconciled to budget and schedule
  • Line manage Enterprise & Commercialisation team staff with effective delegation andcapacity management
  • Ensure project compliance with governance frameworks, funder requirements, and University standards; monitor progress, control budgets, and identify, manage and mitigate risks
  • Deliver timely reporting, project wrap-up documentation, data capture, PR materials, and summary reports for senior leadership in line with contractual obligations
  • Develop, pitch and generate new E&C programmes; create project briefs and translate sector needs and research into applied R&D programmes and funding calls
  • Contribute to project selection processes and exercise delegated editorial decision-making to ensure high creative and editorial standards
  • Develop and implement delivery systems that ensure high-quality SME user experience while serving both industry and university research cultures
  • Champion Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability (DIS) strategy and maintain CRM systems to track company interactions, KPIs, and reporting requirements
  • Partnership Engagement Responsibilities:
  • Support SME and stakeholder engagement programmes by researching sector capabilities and brokering opportunities
  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with CoSTAR network partners, industry stakeholders, and external collaborators

    Enjoy working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Have a proven track record of creating and working in accelerator programmes, creative technical productions and working with educational institutions
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have a positive 'can do' attitude, work well in a team, pro-active and self-confident. Beused to working under high levels of independence and responsibility.
  • This post is based in Egham, Surrey, and jointly at Pinewood Studios, and some national travel expected. The successful applicant will spend significant time liaising with partners across the UK.
