Full Job Description

Bristol City Robins Foundation is a registered charity striving to make a positive difference through sport and learning. We recognise our positive impact on the community but are continually looking to develop and expand our reach. We require an English tutor for students in our community programmes, working within the Education Department. The post will be based at Ashton Gate Stadium.
Your Main Responsibilities:
· To enthuse, motivate and engage with young people, mainly aged between 16 and 18.
· Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment at GCSE English level to ensure learners achieve and make good progress from their starting points.
· Plan, mark and report student progress to parents and school partners.
· To undertake appropriate continuing personal and professional development, including engagement in education programmes.
· To contribute to the timely review of the programme, ensuring its development and growth.

Fixed-term contract, term-time only Fri 28th Aug 2026 - Fri 14th May 2027 (with the opportunity to continue delivery each academic year)
· Do you have experience teaching GCSE English, or have an interest in teaching it?
· Are you comfortable and credible in building professional but supportive relationships with a range of learners?
· Can you evidence your ability to support learners with their academic, personal and social development?
· Are you creative, flexible, and committed to working within a fast-paced charity?
· Do you want to become a pivotal driver in developing our exciting Education Programme?

· Experience teaching the subject of English.
· A strong ability and/or delivery experience to participants in various settings.
· Ability to deliver dynamic and challenging lessons that inspire students and ensure they progress at all levels.
· An ability to set high personal standards and work calmly and effectively in an environment characterised by high ambiguity and complexity.
· Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and purposefully with staff, students and partners to build effective relationships.

Contract: Fixed term, term time only. 6hrs per week (4hrs teaching, 2hrs PPA).
Starting Fri 28th Aug 2026, ending Fri 14th May 2027.
