Full Job Description
The Supply Register is working in partnership with Northumberland College to recruit English Lecturers to support across their curriculum. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a supportive college environment, with the potential to secure longer-term or permanent roles.
Whether you're an experienced English Lecturer, secondary English teacher, or an education professional looking to move into Further Education, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
You'll support learners across a range of programmes, helping them develop confidence and achieve success in English qualifications.
Deliver engaging GCSE and/or Functional Skills English lessons
Support learners with reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
Plan and deliver inclusive and effective teaching sessions
Monitor learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
Prepare learners for exams and assessments
Create a positive and supportive learning environment
Experience teaching English
Strong subject knowledge in English and literacy
Ability to engage and support post-16 learners
Strong communication and classroom management skills
A flexible and reliable approach
Desirable:
Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET)
Experience within Further Education or secondary education
Experience delivering GCSE or Functional Skills English
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
