As an Engineering technician you will provide a comprehensive and professional engineering support service for the Steriles Business Unit (SBU) to meet the business & regulatory needs of the department, with responsibility for all engineering activities associated with the production process. In this role you will…
- Operate and maintain equipment and technology within the Steriles Business Unit, including manufacture, filling, inspection, assembly, and packaging of syringes and vials.
- Perform shift-based work (24/7 or 24/5), handling day-to-day breakdown repairs, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Support local projects, new product introductions, and engineering change controls while preparing and managing GMP safety and quality documentation.
- Ensure delivery of SAP/MERPS activities such as Work Orders, Notifications, Data Maintenance, Ordering plant spares, and continuous improvement initiatives using GPS tools.
- Supervise internal and external contractors, ensuring adherence to GMP standards, and handle calibration of equipment instrumentation.
- Oversee building infrastructure tasks, maintenance of air compressors, VHP, and refrigeration systems, while maintaining compliance with site procedures and systems.
Multi skilled technician with an industry recognised apprenticeship and post-apprenticeship industry-based knowledge and experience. Minimum of an HNC level qualification in an Engineering discipline - Hands on experience of GSK/Pharmaceutical processes and procedures
- Experience with SAP business system
- Demonstrable experience working with cross functional teams in a complex organisation
- Required to demonstrate competence in current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP),
- Strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment. Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working in classified areas such as ISO 5 or ISO 7.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to implement plans and holding yourself and team accountable for delivery goals
- Ability to work under pressure
