Full Job Description
Our new Engineering Shift Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of engineering and maintenance activities across the South Quay site. Working as the link between Engineering and Operations, you will provide effective engineering leadership, ensuring maintenance priorities are delivered while supporting food safety, people safety, site standards and continuous improvement. You will also act as a trusted engineering advisor to site leadership, using data and management information to identify priorities, improve performance and deliver value for money. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced engineering professional who can manage people, budgets and priorities while building strong relationships across a busy FMCG environment. AdRef NOIND, The Engineering Shift Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing the engineering team, ensuring the right people, skills and resources are in place.
- Acting as a key link between Engineering, Operations, HSE and wider site teams to deliver agreed priorities.
- Using engineering data and management information to identify issues, set priorities and improve site performance.
- Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is effective, appropriately managed and continuously improved.
- Maintaining equipment to ensure it operates safely, efficiently and consistently delivers the required quality.
- Supporting the site through customer, HSE, environmental, insurance and food safety audits, ensuring engineering standards remain high.
- Managing and improving the engineering maintenance budget, ensuring effective use of resources and value for money.
- Working with HR and L&D to support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance development and engagement across the engineering team.
You will be an experienced engineering leader with the technical knowledge, leadership capability and confidence to operate effectively across a complex FMCG environment. - Experienced in an engineering leadership or management role, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing.
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- NEBOSH Certificate qualified.
- Electrical qualification equivalent to 16th/17th Edition or above.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP and engineering requirements within a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working with audits and maintaining an audit-ready site.
- Confident communicator who can influence and work effectively with professional peer groups and senior stakeholders.
- Able to manage competing priorities, projects, budgets and resources across a multi-function environment. Experience of fish processing or related engineering environments would be advantageous.
