Full Job Description

As an Engineering Officer Trainer, you'll help shape the future of Defence by delivering high-quality engineering education and training to military personnel. This is a unique opportunity to combine your engineering expertise with your passion for learning and development, equipping future Defence engineers with the technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and professional skills needed to support critical military operations. Day-to-day you'll be required to:

  • Deliver engineering studies lessons, technical training and academic instruction to military trainees.
  • Develop training materials, lesson plans and blended learning resources to support effective learning.
  • Assess and marking engineering projects, reports, presentations and assignments.
  • Provide feedback, coaching and guidance to help learners achieve their full potential.
  • Support continuous improvement activities, quality assurance processes and training programme development.
  • The role is based onsite at MOD Lyneham, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

  • Appropriate and relevant engineering knowledge and industry experience.
  • Appropriate academic knowledge and experience within an engineering environment.
  • Experience supporting learning, training, mentoring or development activities.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles across mechanical, electronic, aviation or related disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Qualifications for the Engineering Officer Trainer:
  • Chartered Engineer status, or currently working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Aviation Engineering.
  • Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
