Introduction
Westfield Medical are offering an apprenticeship to someone looking to start or continue their career in Engineering.
As an apprentice at Westfield Medical you will become an integral part of the engineering team, who are responsible for maintaining the machines that make medical packaging for our customers.
About the Employer
Westfield Medical, who are based in Midsomer Norton – Somerset, is a leading UK manufacturer of single use sterilisation barrier systems. We are a proud developer, manufacturer and supplier of sterilisation packaging, packing materials and accessory products used in Sterile Services and Operating Theatres.
Westfield Medical is part of the Sterimed Group, whose head office is in Paris, France. Sterimed is a world leader in the manufacture of sterilisation packing designs for medical device manufacturers, hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry and have site all across the world.
What You'll Do
If you wish to start a profession in Engineering or continue with your engineering career, we are willing to support and coach you through your training, in partnership with your college.
The apprentice will work closely with three engineers and will be helping with machine breakdowns, planned preventative maintenance of machinery and general site maintenance. There will be an opportunity to observe and undertake welding in the future.
The apprentice will get involved in ad-hoc projects that the maintenance engineers undertake.
Training Outcome
Full time employment and if you have studied and passed your L2 Engineering Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to study for the L3 Engineering Maintenance Technician.
