Full Job Description

Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for digital content, social media, and community engagement? Do you enjoy bringing campaigns and events to life through video, photography, design, and digital communications?
Sport Brighton is seeking an enthusiastic Engagement Officer to help inspire more students, staff, and community members to get involved in sport and physical activity. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in promoting Sport Brighton's programmes, facilities, events, and student sport teams through engaging, audience-focused content.
About the role
Working closely with the Deputy Head of Sport (Insight and Engagement) and colleagues across Sport Brighton, you will create and deliver compelling multi-channel content that strengthens our brand, builds communities, and supports key strategic priorities including student recruitment, partnership development, income generation, and participation in sport and physical activity.
You will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of projects, from capturing and editing video content to creating social media campaigns, writing website articles, producing email communications, and supporting major student events.

We're looking for someone who is creative, organised, and passionate about engaging audiences through digital storytelling. You'll be confident generating ideas, producing content independently, and collaborating with colleagues and volunteers to deliver high-quality communications.
You will bring:
o Experience of creating digital content, social media content, blogs, video, or similar communications
o Strong skills in content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint or equivalent platforms
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
o A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
o Experience of supporting projects, events, campaigns, or team activities
o Knowledge of, or enthusiasm for, the sport, fitness, or higher education sector
o Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
