Endoscopy Ward Clerk

To provide and manage an efficient and effective full administration service for the Nurses and designated clinical staff.

To act as first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Nurses and the wider team. To monitor the timetable and diary of the Consultants, taking an overview of the co-ordination of both clinical and other commitments.

Responsible for organising and communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and /or carers.To support the administrative pathway ensuring patients are seen within the mandatory waiting time targets., To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Nursing team and wider multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include day-to-day management of nurses' diaries, organising clinic commitments, arranging appointments, and maintaining oversight of team timetables to ensure full utilisation of clinic capacity. Ensure clinics are fully prepared by confirming availability of referral letters, clinical reports, correspondence, and investigation results. Take minutes of formal meetings and distribute actions as required.

The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with National and Trust Referral to Treatment (RTT) standards and Access Policy. This includes monitoring referrals awaiting consultant action, ensuring diagnostics and follow-up appointments are processed within RTT timescales, and operating a robust failsafe system to track and review patient pathways. Regularly validate waiting lists, take action where required, record outcomes, and remove patients from waiting lists appropriately in line with policy.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, filing correspondence, reports, and test results correctly. Monitor clinic bookings, manage cancellations and reorganisation of appointments, delegate tasks where appropriate, and keep patients informed of any changes
