Endoscopy Staff Nurse

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic Endoscopy Team at Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high quality, and person-centred care to patients undergoing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills in areas such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy and bronchoscopy, working within a supportive and skilled multidisciplinary team. Specific to Charing Cross we have 4 procedure room, and we are recruiting to meet the increase demand of Endoscopy and Bowel Screening Services. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our screening colleague's ant West London Bowel Cancer Screening programme as we deliver the Faecal Occult blood Test Services to our catchment area. You will receive full training and mentorship to enhance your confidence and competence within our JAG accredited Endoscopy Unit. • Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, in line with Trust policies and national guidance.
• Undertake comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedure assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care.
• Support the Endoscopy Unit Manager / Sister in the day-to-day running of the unit by maintaining safe standards of care and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Take responsibility for the organisation and coordination of patient care for a designated group of patients during a shift.
• Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
• Assist in the teaching and development of nursing assistants, pre-registration students helping them to achieve their learning outcomes.
• To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence-based practice.
• Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by the Endoscopy manager.
• Take responsibility for self-development through the appraisal system and work towards completing agreed personal development plan.
