Endoscopy Staff Nurse

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic Endoscopy Team at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This post is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high quality, and person-centred care to patients undergoing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills in areas such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, and bronchoscopy, working within a supportive and skilled multidisciplinary team. • Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, in line with Trust policies and national guidance.
• Undertake comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedure assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care.
• Support the Endoscopy Unit Manager / Sister in the day-to-day running of the unit by maintaining safe standards of care and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Take responsibility for the organisation and coordination of patient care for a designated group of patients during a shift.
• Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
• Assist in the teaching and development of nursing assistants, pre-registration students helping them to achieve their learning outcomes.
• To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence-based practice.
• Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by theEndoscopy manager.
