Full Job Description
The Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust has the largest NHS decontamination facility in the UK, which is based in Enfield. We have 2 positions available for an Endoscopy Decontamination Technician working pattern 1 position Monday to Friday 14:00 to 22:00. 1 position Wednesday to Sunday 14:00 to 22:00.
- Please state on your application the shift that you are applying for The hours are 37.5 a week but flexibility is a must for this role. You will receive an enhancement of pay for working unsocial hours and weekends. The unit has the capacity to process 14 million surgical instruments and 140,000 flexible endoscopes a year and we provide a service to NHS and Private Hospitals. You will be a valued member of the team assisting our clinical colleagues by providing them with decontaminated flexible endoscopes to enable them to care for patients.

Main duties of the job The role of the Endoscopy Decontamination Technician is to assist in the day-to-day reprocessing (decontamination) of flexible endoscopes required for clinical use. Decontamination Technicians are expected to follow demonstrated training and work instructions to ensure production is to a high standard. Following appropriate training and assessment undertake all assigned duties pertaining to the reprocessing (decontamination - cleaning, disinfection packing / storage) of flexible endoscopes of varying descriptions and types.
