Full Job Description
The Clinical Nurse Specialist for Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis will lead the delivery of specialist, evidence-based care for women and their families. Acting as an expert practitioner, the post holder will manage their own clinics, provide specialist advice and education, and support patients throughout their care journey.
The specialist nurse will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team (MDT), ensuring effective communication between service users and providers, and contribute to the development of guidelines, patient information, and service standards. The role requires strong leadership, flexibility, and commitment to high-quality, sustainable care, while serving as a role model for nursing practice within the organisation.
Due to ongoing service development, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated nurse to play a key role in establishing and developing care pathways for patients with endometriosis within U H Sussex.
The post holder will work with the Lead Consultant for Endometriosis and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality specialist care, advice, and support for women experiencing pelvic pain and endometriosis.
This is an autonomous role suited to a confident and proactive practitioner who can work independently, drive service development, and influence patient pathways.
The successful candidate for the Band 7 post will be an experienced Endometriosis Nurse Specialist able to develop and deliver dedicated nurse-led pelvic pain clinics and patient support initiatives.
There is the opportunity to apply for the trainee Band 6 role with the view to moving to band 7 following a successful training program and completion of competencies provided through external course and inhouse training. Significant experience in Gynaecology is essential. (See Band 6 JD)
The role is based predominantly at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, with the occasional requirement to support other UH Sussex sites.
