To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have… You'll need to have excellent customer service skills, be able to work alone, need to drive and have access to a car. A full UK driving licence is an essential requirement for this role due to the regular transport of equipment/travel to remote sites. You'll need to work full days Mondays and Tuesdays but the half day can be mutually agreed., We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader. We would anticipate that the post would appeal to someone from the background of 'Empty Homes', 'Environmental Health', 'Housing', 'Estate Agency' 'Regulation' or similar, with a passion for helping ensure best use is made of private sector homes. The post helps deliver the City Council's Private Sector Empty Homes Strategy and supports its private sector acquisitions programme. Through this, you'll be supporting owners to remove barriers to bringing homes into use or monitoring the progress of those that don't need assistance. What you'll be doing You'll help the Development Team find empty privates sector homes that can be purchased and brought into use as affordable rented homes, thereby contributing to the increase in affordable housing across the city. You'll also help local communities that are affected by the negative impacts of neglected empty homes by locating and negotiating with owners, serving legal notices or referring properties for enforcement action, such as compulsory purchase.
