Full Job Description

As a Senior Employment Specialist in Solihull, you will play a key role in changing the lives of Solihull residents by helping them to secure employment, apprenticeships, or training. You will be working in a small friendly team, at the Solihull Recruitment and Training Centre in Chelmsley Wood with the opportunity to work flexibly at other locations around the Borough. You will deliver employment support by providing tailored, one-to-one and small interventions to residents facing barriers to work including care experienced, ex-offenders and people with disabilities, mental health and Learning disabilities /conditions, or long-term health issues supporting them into sustainable paid employment or training. You will work with individuals, employers, and partner organisations and will line manage a small team, shaping and leading their work. You will ensure contractual targets are achieved and robust reporting is implemented, as well as ensuring all evidence meets fidelity assurance models (SEQF or IPS).

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Employment Specialist to join us promoting our services to local people and supporting them to move into employment, education or training through intensive support, including the new Connect to Work programme., To be successful in this role, you will need to be:

  • Educated to Level 4 or above in relevant field or be able to demonstrate through extended relevant experience the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties
  • Experienced in driving forward and delivering successful employment projects with target driven results
  • Experienced in supporting people with complex needs into employment, especially within mental health, disability, or social care contexts
  • Able to lead, motivate, support and manage a small team
  • An excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal, motivational and problem-solving skills., This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
